The Opportunity:


This JR is intended to create a pipeline of qualified junior cybersecurity candidates, supporting future program requirements in monitoring Army networks, defensive cyber operations, and RMF compliance activities across DEVCOM C5ISR mission spaces.
The Junior Cybersecurity Specialist supports protection of Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Army information systems. The role contributes to monitoring secure enclaves, detecting threats, and ensuring compliance with military cybersecurity frameworks. Activities reflect support requirements commonly found in C5ISR programs such as System Administration, Network Administration, and Cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor network traffic for unauthorized activity.

  • Analyze alerts to identify potential security incidents.

  • Respond to low level cybersecurity events.

  • Perform vulnerability scans using approved DoD/Army tools.

  • Support patch management and secure baseline updates.

  • Audit system access logs for compliance.

  • Maintain RMF documentation and support accreditation activities.

  • Report compliance posture to senior cybersecurity staff.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship (DoD requirement).

  • Clearance: Active Secret or eligibility for sponsorship.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related fields.

  • 1–3 years in IT or cybersecurity.

  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II (Security+ CE, CySA+, etc.).

Desired:

  • Tools such as ACAS, HBSS, SPLUNK

  • 53‑Knowledge of NIST SP 800

  • Experience administering Windows and Linux systems

This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$58,400 - 116,900 USD
